Will MS survive till 2019?
"I am like an old wine" that's what MS Dhoni said after his match winning 78 off 79 balls at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. But is the bottle getting older too? After his crawling effort of 54 off 114 balls, many have raised questions questions over his ability to finish matches. But was his innings the only reason behind India's embarrassing loss to a team who is in absolute turmoil? I don't think so because 'poor shot selection' from the likes of Dhawan, Kohli, Jadeja didn't help the cause either. We could clearly see Dhoni's attempt of giving strike to the likes of Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav and encourage them to finish the match for India. As that didn't go according to the plan, eventually Dhoni had to take his chance and unluckily he found Alzarri Joseph at long on. If Dhoni had successfully finished the game, same people who are criticizing him for his crawling effort would have praised him saying that Dhoni built his innings in order to finish it at the end.
One unsuccessful finish by Dhoni and he suddenly finds himself in the newspapers all over India.Media hasn't been kind to Dhoni, let's put it that way. Well, I have no doubt that he can survive till 2019. As a matter of fact, he is the best wicketkeeper in India at the moment and I can't see anybody to replace him. Dhoni promoted himself at no 4 about a year ago and he is just as valuable as he was at no 6. Now it's time for the likes of Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav to really fill in shoes of the finisher and take that responsibility off MS Dhoni's shoulders.........
